Solomon Islands
The Solomon Islands is an archipelago of rain forest clad mountainous islands and low-lying coral atolls. The Solomon Islands are serviced by Solomon Airlines. The main international gateway to this area is Australia where you connect from Brisbane to Honiara.
The charm of the Solomon Islands is in its limited development and their desire to keep it that way.There is a selection of small resorts in isolated locations, accessible by light aircraft.
WHERE IS THE SURF
Gizo is an Hours flight from Honiara and is the capital of the Western Province with a town population in excess of 2,000. Surrounding Gizo Island, there are endless blue lagoons, coral cays, and volcanic and crystal bays; all with their own unique
character and tropical paradise delights. Island style feasts, exciting entertainment and Solomon Islanders will certainly ensure a memorable stay on this most beautiful island.

WHEN TO GO THERE
The best time is between end of November and late April, when the North/ Westerlies kick in. The remainder of the year is less reliable but can be excellent during times of no wind. If there is a cyclone somewhere off the Australian East coast the swell can be up to 20 feet but usually varies between 2 and 8 feet .
THE BREAKS
Titiana is located around about 15 minutes by boat from Sanbis Resort, a left hander, best on a southeast swell. It can be surfed on both high and low tide, has an average size of around 2-15ft. Paelongge, a right hander is a further 10 minutes by speed boat with similar conditions.
Surfers should consider bringing spare fins, a spare leg rope and of course wax when surfing in The Solomon Islands.
ACCOMMODATION
Sanbis Resort is located 7 kilometers from the Gizo township on its own private island. Only five intimate bungalows await your arrival with its secluded location it is perfect for small groups or couples. Sanbis Resort arranges the boat transport to the nearby breaks , (Titiana and Paelongge)., each boat easily accommodating 4—6 surfers.
