Taveuni
Dive into tomorrow at Taveuni, an unspoiled island paradise that lies right on the International Date Line. It’s about 1.5 hours flying time from Nadi and is home to incredible ecosystem diversity, including volcanic mountains, rich tropical rainforests and underwater environments that have to be seen to be believed.
“Rainbow Reef” is a very popular, unbelievably colourful coral reef dive, and the most famous dive site here is “The Great White Wall”. You usually start in a tubular cave at about 15m, going through colourful swim-throughs and emerging at 25m. Turn left… and find a huge white wall that looks like a ski slope, covered in white soft corals punctuated with colourful anthias darting about.
Taveuni is also home to many big animals, and you can find schooling barracuda, reef sharks, turtles and perhaps even leopard sharks. The range of diving here is very good, and Taveuni is sure to please.
